#BlackGirlMagic: Simone Biles Wins Fourth Straight U.S. National Championships

June 28, 2016

19-year-old Simone Biles flipped her way to a near perfect 9.9 score and won her fourth straight U.S. National Championship.

This makes Biles the first gymnast to do so in 42 years, and she will be taking her #BlackGirlMagic all the way to Brazil for this year’s Olympics.

“The pint-sized powerhouse is, simply, the best gymnast of her generation. Maybe the best ever. She’s won the last three all-around titles at the world gymnastics championships, the first time a woman has won three in a row.”

It’s beautiful to see a young Black woman excelling in gymnastics, as historically the sport has not been the most accessible to Black women.

We are excited to see what the future Biles has, and the PushBlack family will be supporting her – as well as the talented Gabby Douglas – during the 2016 Olympics in Rio!
