Yes, you read it right. The National Fraternal Order of Police (FOP), a union with 330,000 law enforcement officers, just endorsed Donald Trump.
“He understands and supports our priorities and our members believe he will make America safe again.”
-Chuck Canterbury, National President of the Fraternal Order of Police
The Fraternal Order of Police is not the only union that has endorsed Trump, as the National Border Patrol Council and the New England Police Benevolent Association have endorsed Trump, too.
“What is the next president of the United States going to do to unite this country in an effort to save police officers? Because it’s open season on police officers.”
-Jerry Flynn, Executive Director of the New England police officers’ association
The rhetoric of Trump and police unions is as anti-Black as it gets, so it’s to no surprise that police unions are endorsing Trump.
It’s also important to note that there’s no war on police in this country as Jerry Flynn claims, as 2016 was one of the safest years ever to be a cop.
