Colin Kaepernick Calls Justice Bader Ginsburg’s Criticism of National Anthem Protest ‘Disappointing’

“at the end of the day, the flag is just a piece of cloth and I am not going to value a piece of cloth over people’s lives.” -Colin Kaepernick

NFL player Colin Kaepernick has made national headlines once again after Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg dismissed his protest–kneeling during the National Anthem before NFL games in response to police brutality–as, “idiotic, dumb, stupid” and equated it with flag burning.

Kaepernick, in turn, expressed great disappointment in Justice Ginsburg’s words, as well of the delegitimization of black protest.

Although Kaepernick has faced much backlash for his protest, Ginsburg’s criticism came as a surprise to many, as the long-serving justice is regarded as a hero on the Left for her fiery courtroom dissents.

While unfortunate, Justice Ginsburg’s words serve as a reminder that liberals are not exempt from having a racial blindspot when it comes to our lives. Stay woke, fam!
