Pizza and Parks: How the Little Caesars Franchise is Tied to Black History

The Little Caesar’s pizza franchise has an interesting tie to the late Rosa Parks. Mike Ilitch, founder and owner of the international¬†pizza franchise, Little Caesar’s, helped to pay Rosa Parks’ rent from 1994 until her death in 2005.

Ilitch, a native of Detroit with a large presence in the city, was active in the philanthropic scene and often donated to many causes. In 1994, when Mrs. Parks was beaten and robbed by an intruder in her Detroit home, Ilitch provided financial assistance to help ease the burden of her recovery. Parks’ home is now being relocated to Berlin where it is being preserved through an art installation. ¬†Read more here.
